Strengthening Connections Between Families and T & K Childcare

Family involvement enriches every child’s experience at T & K Childcare. Parents play an important role in building a warm, supportive environment where children feel valued, encouraged, and connected to both home and school. We welcome parent participation throughout the year and offer many opportunities for families to engage with classrooms, special activities, and center events. When families stay involved, children gain confidence, build stronger relationships, and feel supported in their learning journey.

We serve families from Latrobe, Greensburg, Ligonier, Derry, Mount Pleasant, Blairsville, Youngstown, and New Alexandria, and we work closely with each of them to build a childcare community rooted in communication, trust, and involvement. Ways Parents Can Participate

arents at T & K Childcare can get involved in many different ways, depending on their interests, comfort level, and schedule. Whether you volunteer occasionally or participate regularly, your involvement makes a positive impact on your child’s experience.

Volunteer in the Classroom

Parents may assist with story time, art projects, science activities, seasonal crafts, or movement activities. These classroom moments allow children to feel proud and excited while parents enjoy seeing the everyday learning environment.

Share Skills, Cultures or Interests

Families enrich the center by sharing talents or traditions. You might read a favorite book, introduce a cultural celebration, bring in a musical instrument, or help with a themed activity. Children benefit from learning about the diverse experiences and backgrounds within our community.

Support Special Events

We host events throughout the year that bring families together. Parents can help with planning, setup, cleanup, or general participation during celebrations, fundraisers, or holiday events.

These gatherings build community connections and create lasting memories for children and families.

Stay Engaged Through Communication

Involvement also includes staying connected through open communication. Parents can speak with teachers during drop-off and pick-up, review daily reports, or reach out by phone or email with questions. Staying informed helps reinforce consistent routines and supports children as they grow and learn.

We also welcome feedback from parents. Suggestions help us improve programs, strengthen communication, and create new opportunities for families to engage with our center.
